Fostering Emergency Service and Community Relationships

This year HRAC will be participating in the Lower Paxton Township Night Out for Public Safety which is part of the National Night Out program. We will be at George Park (Nyes Road and Heatherfield Way, Paxtonia) from 5 pm to 8 pm. Setup is from 3:45 pm to 4:30 pm.  Fire Trucks will be arriving at 4:30 so access to the location where we will be set up will be limited.  We will be discussing and demonstrating amateur radio and how it can benefit the community.

We will be setting up an EZ-up canopy.  I have one small (4′ L x 2′ W) folding table that I will bring.  It would be great if we can get a couple more tables to put out brochures, radios and antennas. If anyone has a photo that you downloaded from the ISS please bring that along or send it to me. You should also bring a chair to sit on. I will be bringing my Yaesu 857D and Anytone HT.  Please bring along a radio/antenna that you would want to display/demonstrate and power supply/battery if you need it.  I was planning to operate on battery since we will not have the club generator which should be fine since I figured we would primarily be on VHF. We will be monitoring the W3UU (146.76) and W3ND (145.11) repeaters and hopefully making contact with others.  If you cannot make it please contact us via radio.

Email me at k3rts@w3uu.org if you will be able to attend and if you will be bringing a table or equipment.
