1000 – 1500 hours local (10:00 AM to 3:00 PM)
NOTE: Please plan to arrive early and stay later in support of the setup, configuration and tear down time and efforts associated with this club activity.

HRAC will be at Memorial Lake State Park commemorating the 21st Anniversary of 9/11. It will also be a Parks On The Air (POTA) activation (POTA# K-1384). We will be operating with the W3M Special Event call sign (to be determined – applications still in process).

Memorial Lake State Park is located within the Fort Indiantown Gap National Guard Training Site. Fort Indiantown Gap has been a key installation for the Army and the Pennsylvania National Guard for more than 90 years. Memorial Lake was established in 1945 in memory and honor of Pennsylvania National Guard soldiers who served in World War I and World War II. In 1955, Memorial Lake was transferred to the Department of Forest and Waters, now the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and became Memorial Lake State Park. We thought it a fitting location to commemorate the 21st anniversary of 9/11/2001 at this location after the tremendous success we had last year for the 20th anniversary.

We expect to be on 7.265 MHz and 14.265 MHz plus or minus QRM. We expect to be on the air by 1000 hours Eastern (1400 UTC) and continue until 1500 hours Eastern (1900 UTC).

We will be setting up the trailer near the parking area off of Lower Road (40.4217, -76.6027) near some picnic tables.  There are also charcoal grills available.  Bring a chair and food to share.  Please contact Bob (K3RTS) for additional information or to provide the food that you are willing to contribute and share with the group.

Discussions and planning are still taking place, but we anticipate offering special commemorative QSL cards via email only. Stay tuned for additional information and breaking news.
